The game was designed as an interactive FMV game for the Jaguar CD, which was a console add-on for the Atari Jaguar, and the release was set for 1997. However, due to poor sales of the Jaguar CD, development of the game was canceled. A year later, director Jeff Burr shot additional scenes with the plan of turning the game into a feature-length film. During the cutting process, the film negatives were severely damaged. The producers took an insurance settlement and the game was canceled entirely. Many years later, development of the game was resumed by restoring the available footage with the assistance of modern AI technology. Timothy Bottoms reprised his character by adding narration to certain scenes.
