As of 2003, this is the only Super Mario game in which Princess Daisy has appeared, aside from party and sports titles such as Mario Party 3 (2000) and Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour (2003). However, the creators of the movie Super Mario Bros. (1993) decided to use Daisy as the female lead, despite the fact that Princess Toadstool/Princess Peach (the princess in the main series of Super Mario Bros. (1985) titles) was more well known.
