A strong documentary that gives a great overview of the contemporary European racism motivating the immigration of Roma to Canada. It tracks Roma (known historically to non-Roma in the derogatory Gypsy) through the process of immigration and/or refugee applications to live in Canada. Through these processes, we are enlightened about the the Canadian government's discrimination against the Roma peoples, and the life-threatening risks they face in deportation to small European towns where neo-Nazis lay in wait. Overall, i thought that the filmmakers did a great job bringing to life the joy and suffering that the Roma face in this most recent round of European persecution. As the filmmakers remind us, "90% of the Roma people in the Czech Republic were exterminated by Hitler", and the film solicits disgust in the viewers that a people who have suffered so long, and faced the full brunt of the Holocaust have been left unprotected and powerless by the world.
