THIS is one amazing podcast! Too many podcasts with multiple hosts have unnecessary chatter and giggling, and not actually getting TO the story. Greats like Vanessa Richardson co-hosts without any blabbering. There just aren't many podcasts with co-hosts that just tell the STORY. However, Colin and Courtney have great narrator voices and skills are off the charts. They take turns telling well-scripted stories, without talking over each other. Courtney especially has an extra soft, soothing voice, balancing with Colin's equally pleasant voice. They speak clearly and their scripts are well-written and edited to one smooth story per episode. They do employ sound effects, giving podcast an edge. Yesterday, I happened to listen to one episode, that was so good I decided I had to listen to it one more time. Murder In America episodes had already made it to my screened Best of True Crime playlist. I listened to the specific episode a second time, ending up staying on their podcast, binging. I'm very picky with True Crime podcasts, but Murder in America is on par with well-crafted ID, Wondery and Parcast podcasts, and they are pretty much untouchable. This podcast is the exception. They're in the same League.
