The FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigations) Training Academy is located 36 miles outside of Washington D.C., and situated over 547 acres on the grounds of United States Marine Corp base at Quantico, Virginia. The Academy is an institution designed to train future Special Agents and Intelligence Analysts. Ever since J. Edgar Hoover opened its doors in 1972, Quantico (as it is known in FBI circles) houses one of the largest and most comprehensive crime labs in the world, as well as the headquarters of the Hostage Rescue Team (FBI SWAT).
