Tormented by the atrocities of World War II, Koichi, a kamikaze pilot wracked with guilt, comes back to a decimated Tokyo. Labeled a coward, he struggles to regain his footing. Yet, as he and the nation attempt to recover, they face a new menace. The emergence of a colossal creature called Godzilla.
