Generally speaking I don't like "talking heads" but here's an exception. The topics vary enormously but they often involve a well-known person and a recent biography but also cover topics such as slavery, the American Revolution, the Civil War, etc. The interplay between the host and the authors is wonderful. The host does his homework and he walks the authors through the salient topics in the books. This makes it easy to cover the topic in the time allotted. Anyone interested in American history will find this series very valuable. I'm an author myself and have books on American History and I still find things I didn't know from this program. The only reason I give it a 9 instead of a 10 is that it's pretty dry with few if any illustrations. It's almost exclusively talking heads. This series will only appeal to people with IQs over 110.
