Description
This game was the first film or game to be removed from the Slamdance festival in its thirteen years of running. The event's organizer, Peter Baxter, chose to remove the game from the festival's Guerrilla Gamemaker Competition, after it had already been announced as winning a finalist slot. Baxter named moral considerations, legal issues due to the inclusion of a Nirvana song, fear of legal repercussions should someone imitate the game and sue the festival, and pressure from sponsors (which was later recanted), as various reasons why he pulled the nomination. Further controversy has erupted since, with the USC Interactive Media Division withdrawing its sponsorship, and seven of the fourteen finalist games removing themselves from competition in protest of Super Columbine's removal.
